Incantation is a ULDB Santa Cruz 50 that is sailing for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in the 2012 Vic-Maui race. David Ratner has owned and skippered Incantation since her initial launch in 1981. This is Incantation's 2nd Vic Maui; her first was in 1982. She has also raced the Transpac in '83 and '85, the Melbourne-Osaka double handed in '91, the Pacific Cup double handed in '86 and full crewed in '96, . Incantation has been absent from the racing scene recently because she's been cruising the Pacific as far south as Chilean Channels, as far west as Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Japan and the Falklands in the South Atlantic.
Incantation is being crewed by an experienced crew of 6 adults, and two first-time teens. We're very excited about sharing this long-distance, blue ocean racing experience with our children.
